Contemporary Realities of Newcomer Women
Immigrant women face employment challenges in Canada because of their gender and immigration status. They may experience obstacles in the labour market, different treatments in wages and working conditions, and additional responsibilities at home (King & Cheung, 2017).
The OHG understands the impacts of social and economic structures on women’s employment status and moves forward to make changes. We apply the principles of structural and feminist perspectives.
